We are proud to be a major presenting sponsor for MOMIX, a dance-illusionist company known for their inventive and beautiful work. MOMIX will be performing at Albert Taylor Hall at Emporia State University on Wednesday, September 26 at 7 to 9 pm.
MOMIX was founded by and is under the art direction of Moses Pendleton. Pendleton has worked extensively in film, television, opera and even helped with the Opening Ceremonies of the 2014 Sochi Olympics. He formed MOMIX in 1971, and they have appeared in well-known television ads, including ones for Hanes and Target, as well as on PBS’s “Dance in America” series.
According to MOMIX, “Each show features dancers manipulating their bodies and props in unique and astounding ways. While there is no concrete story-line, MOMIX performances evoke through imagery a theater of light and physical bodies.”
The show is great for people of all ages. Children tend to enjoy the costumes and props, and parents can appreciate the subtle beauty. Tickets cost $8 – $20. For more information and to purchase tickets, go here.
