Clint Bowyer is gearing up for the 2017 Nascar season with Stewart-Haas Racing. He’ll be taking over Tony Stewart’s No. 14 car during Stewart-Haas Racing’s first year with Ford Performance.
Bowyer is looking forward to the new season, telling FS1’s “Nascar Race Hub”, “There’s a lot of exciting things here and an unbelievable opportunity… to have that be with Ford, Mobil 1 and everyone involved, it’s just a dream come true.”
Bowyer is moving from Chevrolet to Ford and is excited to be driving with talented people around him. He says, “A lot of thought really goes into the new season with a new life, a new chance, a new crack at-bat, a new manufacturer, new sponsors, new teammates and a new organization. But, what an unbelievable opportunity it is to go out and do what you love to do, not only to do that but do it in first-class equipment built by racers that only share one thing in common— the will to go out and win races.”
Bowyer says that what he loves about Stewart-Haas Racing is that everyone is working towards building race cars that go fast and win races. They aren’t focused on sales, but rather they are focused on winning.

Toyota recently revealed a concept car at the Consumer Electronics Show that features artificial intelligence and hinted at the future of self-driving vehicles.
According to Business Insider, the Toyota Concept-i “comes with an artificial intelligence assistant named Yui that can learn more about you over time.” Yui would be designed to read human emotions and learn about drivers to focus on safety. It would be able to assist with things such as changing the radio station and conversing with drivers.
Toyota believes that we are far away from fully self-driving cars, but artificial intelligence can make cars safer and the driving experience more enjoyable. The Concept-i also features welcome lights and sounds, a heads-up display rather than a touchscreen, and a minimalist design.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently released its TOP SAFETY PICK+ winners for 2017, and Toyota leads the way with nine models included on the list. IIHS gives 38 models the “plus” award and 44 models earn TOP SAFETY PICK. In order to qualify for TOP SAFETY PICK+, vehicles must earn good ratings in five crashworthiness tests, an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention and a good or acceptable headlight rating.
This year, IIHS toughened the criteria for new headlight evaluations, which the Toyota Prius v earned a good rating in. IIHS said, “The recognition program is meant to encourage manufacturers to offer state-of-the-art protection for people in crashes, along with features that help drivers avoid crashes in the first place.”
IIHS also emphasized auto brakes, which encouraged manufacturers to make design improvements. According to IIHS, “The 2017 Corolla qualifies for a TOP SAFETY PICK+ award with a good rating for occupant protection in a small overlap crash and a superior rating for front crash prevention.” Not only was the Corolla recognized for including a standard front crash prevention system with auto brake capabilities, but the Toyota Avalon, Prius, RAV4 and Yaris iA were also recognized.
